Non-stop action. And, do I smell a sequel? Yes please!
Holy mother of fights in here.
Good action movie, Go for it!...
I was excited to watch this because I’m a Timo Tjahjanto fan and I thought the plot sounded extremely cool. Let me just stop you right there. Forget the plot, forget the character arcs (mostly), and just have a blast watching the craziness unfold. I love to see Timo pushing the limits of gore in the action genre. He seems to be always looking for new and most terrible ways to inflict pain. The shattered window glass across the calf muscle?!?!? like fuuuuck me. Also the opening scene is so badass. It’s all for shock matter and I’m all for it. He indeed heard the whistle of his own death and his blood did paint the floor bright red.
I love the cleverness and ingenuity written into characters like 13 and Jeki. Loved it when Jeki opened the rear driver door and the gang sprayed on the governor. Also Agent 13 taking out the cops with the creepy masks was a great fucking scene. She has this confidence about her while she’s fighting that added oomph to the action. “You’re just a puny boy hiding behind his daddy” was way more hurtful to Ariel than any of the physical pain inflicted on him.
I wish we got info on Troika because watching him get annihilated by 13 was fucking awesome and probably the best fight of the film. Overall this film is messy plot wise but I was so distracted by the insane action sequences that I was just having fun.
I promise you you will enjoy it till the end.
If you like death, murder, mayhem, lot's of blood and some brutal fight scene's then this is for you! I enjoyed it. Brain in neutral, sit back and enjoy the ride! Keep watching after the 1st credits and that's why there has to be a sequel. 🤔 :thumbsup_tone1:
>*–"What the fuck is that... sound?"
–"Music. The whistle of your death."*
After watching Timo Tjahjanto's *The Night Comes for Us* and *Headshot*, this was an instant must-watch. The guy knows how to do action and gore and i'm glad he got a bigger budget for this one. The set pieces are bigger and more fun, the intro was an homage to *Kill Bill* and the one in the nightclub was *John Wick* I loved that.
No Iko Uwais this time around unfortunately but Aurora Ribero surprised me she's got the moves and I prefer her over Iko for the non-action scenes, she's a little better at selling dialogue and dramatic beats. A touching story with the kid that gave her a soul and the viewers something to root for. The villains work, they're hateable and twisted.
Why is this so freakin long though? I had to watch it in two sittings because I started to lose interest at times. The pacing really brings it down, especially when you have 20 minutes of non-stop adrenaline action and then 30 minutes of slowness. The musical choices aren't the best, it needed some more bright colors it was too dark for too long, and a lot of exagerated punches and sword sounds that took me out of it.
There's so much action at times that it gets tiresome. That being said, the action sequences are great. Badass inventive choreography, satisfying camerawork, gory kills... they gave their all in that final fight! No idea why they cast two actresses that look identical though, wasn't sure who was who at times. It's begging for a sequel and i'd totally watch it.
Where was the woman dressed in a bride dress with two katanas I saw on a promotional photo for the movie??
The story is mid but the action and brutality is why I watched this movie
Wasn't too good but a great time killer nonetheless.
An average assassin sword 🗡 movie.
