This is probably Ray Harryhausen's best film. It features the army of skeletons, the seven-headed Hydra, and for my money, the greatest Harryhausen creation Talos, the massive bronze warrior. It's still pretty frightening when the mighty Talos statue begins to rise and then pursues Jason and his Argonauts.

The only thing that keeps me from giving this my highest rating is that the story falls a little flat. There's really not much to it. Also, the Harryhausen effects are so awesome that the movie drags quite a bit when they aren't on-screen.

Lastly, the Bernard Herrmann score adds much to this film, but I prefer some of his other work for Hitchcock and the Twilight Zone.

A film I first watched about 40 years and it produces great childhood memories and considering it's a 1963 release the effects really are impressive for the time. A big thumbs up film for me which never fails to grab me every time its shown.

I used to watch this movie when I was a child with my Dad whilst my mom cooked Sunday dinner in the kitchen. It is one of my favorites of all time!

Classic adventure movie. A little sci-fi and a little mythology and stop motion and a lot of fun. Watched it a few times as a kid and it still holds up well. The wigs and beard on people in these old movies always make me laugh. Really poor quality, but it was 60 years ago so I give them a break.

The movie tells the classic legend of Jason, a Greek hero. The stop-motion special effects in this movie are so bad that they are good again. Forget CGI, this is 1960s movie magic.
