The Well

In a world where environmental collapse has left survivors to fight for the precious resources needed to survive, a young woman’s loyalties are tested by the arrival of a wounded man. When he discovers her family has a secret supply of fresh water it puts them all in the crosshairs of a dangerous cult, and their ruthless leader Gabriel.
[Fantasia '25] A post-apocalyptic story that focuses more on the relationships between people than on describing the consequences of a virus affecting the water supply. Throughout the film, an interesting question is raised about the need to rebalance societies when extreme situations arise, faced with the maintenance of certain privileges. Forgetting the past to restart the present, referring to the river of oblivion that the souls of the dead drank from to forget their earthly lives. But the idea is not fully developed enough to drive a narrative that ends up drowning in dialogue and performances that are too languid.
