This story appears somewhere in the games, so knowing the universe helps to understand it. The film introduces the theme, twists, and resolution. Don’t expect the usual Witcher formula. The animation isn’t highly detailed but flows smoothly.

It's the Little Mermaid...complete with the sea witch singing. 🙄

So this was the Witcher’s version of the little mermaid but done better than what Disney did recently!

It's more good than bad but it's missing the flare for originality. I can only compare it to the live-action series as it's the only 'Witcher' material I've seen. I'm not a hardcore fan like the book readers but big enough to want to watch these spin-offs. I was well into the world and following Geralt with his counterparts, although nothing hits like s1 and 2 of the show. Most projects since lack substance. Netflix has several big-name projects like 'Terminator' or 'Tomb Raider', and they're all plastered with the same animation style, as good as it may be. Voice acting was forgettable. Story/characters was okay. Sfx/score was decent.

Hearing Doug Cockle was very nice but has a deeply bitter taste when the rest of "the trio" is cast with the live action actors since that only gives the impression that Henry Cavill was the first choice and either side did not want to go with that.
It wasn't particularly bad but felt pretty uninspired because it was too familiar of a Witcher tale and a bit too much Arielle for my taste especially in that one scene.
Other than that I don't really get what audience this is targeted at: It was strangely desexualised but still so brutal that it is completely unsuitable for younger audiences..

I barely remembered what happened in this. I used to love the first seasons of The Witcher, but it fell off...
