Whoever says this movie is “just set of random music clips” and “doesn’t make sense” just didn’t get it at all. It is true that it needs a bit thinking but the storyline is actually why I felt so much for the album. The story is so intense I still have goosebumps after watching it for at least 30 times.
It is a story Roger Waters know very well. Rock star who start thinking about his whole existence who is filled up with his own tragedy and our consumerism a fanatism.
It’s about building walls from young age (first wall - father dies at war, war as a tragedy of humankind, fighting for nothing; overprotective mother - another wall; school etc.) he’s building walls and it makes him lonely and miserable until he becomes a new person.
There are so many social, psychological and political problems discussed in this movie which are completed with absolutely perfect animatons by great artist - Gerards Scarf.
It is one of the best movies ever (in my opinion) and not only because of Pink Floyd. I think it’s not much Ponk Floyd as it is Roger Waters and you really don’t need to be a fan to understand this movie or to let this movie to touch your soul. If you’ll watch it closely it will catch your heart and twist it. And hopefully it will leave something in your mind

"All in all, you're just another brick in the wall."

"Pink Floyd: The Wall", a compelling visual journey of the disturbed and tragic mind. It is one long music video, which is not really a negative, not with this movie.

I do not listen to a lot of Pink Floyd's music, so watching this was quite the surreal experience, but I connected and understood the surrealness to a weird extent. I think anyone who is or is not a fan will have an interesting and unique experience. Any sort of character development comes through the music, which itself tells the whole story. This will be the closest we will ever come to examine Roger Waters mindset and feelings.

The songs themselves are not only amazing, but brilliantly expressed and unequal compared to other bands. The animated sequences that went with the songs were so remarkable it makes the songs strike an extra chord to your subconscious.

Overall rating: RIP Alan Parker. A brilliant director who took a band and adapted it into cinema.

A classic in music movies. Essentially a 1,5 hour music video. For fans.

If it wasn't Pink Floyd this movie would be a 5/10 because there's no plot at all, just a sequence of music videos.

The film is chaotic and difficult to watch. It is saved by a few good pieces of music.

The album is a masterpiece, but the movie is set of video clips without sense. In musical movies the characters sing, but in this movie nobody does, they are only abstract sequences.

I don't get the plot of this "classic". The best thing about this movie, for me, is it's soundtrack...
