nahhh this movie is great! I enjoyed every second of this film, I highly recommend that you see this movie :)
Just when you think the original cannot be topped and you hear about the rumors that this is made out of a failed TV show has your expectations low. However, this exceeds the first one. The music is just as good if not better and just when you thought there is nowhere to go with the plot, you thought wrong as this fall is Moana, and now senior wave rider and hero, following the calls of her ancestors to find a deeper calling and goes on an epic adventure with some new and familiar characters. The introduction of her little sister makes it an even more emotional connection movie for all the plot development was a little choppy throughout the film however, the songs, the casting the CGI and big moments made this for a must watch and another one in the history books for Disney.
don't know what's wrong with the comments but i loved it, it was amazing, i think this is one of movies I wouldn't mind having many more sequels even if they're pointless
Moana 2 can't recapture the showstopping feel of its predecessor, but this journey to the sea is still worth taking.
Since in previously in first movie,is a giant coconut crab...........😱😱
Amazing visuals, good humour, great voice performances. The story was darker and more challenging than the original.
Comments seem very negative but I had a really good time this evening. ❤
I feel like people have too high expectations about everything these days. I liked it a lot, the animation quality is superb (and you definitely see an improvement over the first one), the story is very “disney” and songs are fine. The film was definitely worth watching. Of course that the first one was “WOW”, we did not have a prior reference as we do now, but this second one is good too, and kids definitely enjoy it, the target audience.
Surprisingly… it works!
With a first act as fast-paced as it gets, an almost non-existent second act, and a third act that I can only describe as perfect, this is one of Disney's best movies in recent years.
Having Atlantis 2 as a precedent, I was genuinely afraid this movie would suffer from being conceived as a series. While Moana 2 still has several flaws for this reason – such as the lack of narrative depth, cohesion between scenes, the rushed pacing, and the almost non-existent character development – I think it's worth highlighting that this movie definitely works and serves as a good sequel. Not at the level of the first, but it does manage to do it justice.
The emotional component of the third act is undoubtedly beautiful and achieved something that many "children's" movies fail to do: it made me feel something. Emotion, sadness, etc. I think Moana 2 fulfills this role quite well.
Regarding the music, I don't have much to say: it's Disney, and the experience in this area is evident. Some songs are better than others, but the main theme is quite good and on par with the one from the first movie. That said, I believe the musical numbers lack vitality. Except for Maui’s, they all feel pretty flat and don’t stand out beyond their song: choreography, setting, animation; everything feels superficial.
It definitely saddens me that the original idea of making it a series wasn’t pursued, as it would have greatly benefited from more time. Either that, or reworking the story to fit perfectly into a movie.
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to seeing the future of this new franchise.
Better than expected. After having seen Gladiator 2 and feeling it was a painful followup story I at least felt like Moana 2 had some sort of right of existence. Some of the plot points are a bit stupid and predictable.
Does civilization truly end when you don't connect with others? And why didn't it do that then in the last 1000 years on their island?
. But the new characters where fun. The new songs were ok although less catchy for now. I saw it in 4DX and I would totally recommend watching it like that. At some points it really felt like a disney theme park ride and I have watched many other 4DX movies. This one had top execution.
