This was very entertaining, some very tense moments! Those sharks are scary. Zephyr was very tough, Bruce Tucker was a part well played by Jai Courtney, as an unhinged serial killer . Worth a watch, not just about sharks . 👍

I actually thoroughly enjoyed the film much more than I thought I would.

I know outside of Jaws, the genre isn't that great for shark movies, but this one I actually thought was good

Also, Jai Courtney is actually awesome in this. Definitely his best performance yet.

The movie was actually alright, went into it not knowing what movie it was going to be as it was a scream unseen movie at Odeon. Didn't feel like the movie was dragged out, went with a friend and had luxe seats so the combo of seeing the movie early and not paying anything for it was a great combo.

Complete popcorn flick . This is not the Jaws of our generation but you’re about to have 1 1/2 hour of mindless fun.

Dangerous Animals was a breezy and entertaining movie. It was somewhat predictable, but I still found its runtime fly by in the theater. It has some really strong moments of intense tension. It'll also randomly suddenly have a beautiful shot, showing some cinematography chops, though I think some of this is frontloaded. I was hoping there would be more of that camerawork throughout, but it was still nice when it occured. Hassie Harrison plays a Jennifer Lawrence-lite style character, but she does a good job. Jai Courtney is hammy enough, but he lacked some of the screen presence required for the role. I think the movie's weakness is that it tries to develop a random and unnecessary romance subplot that eats up runtime. Cutting that would have made the movie leaner and more intense. I think the movie isn't slow necessarily, and it does have a unique premise compared to similar shark features that gives it more weight. I just think some tighter editing could have pushed it up a level.

🇬🇧🇺🇸 Dangerous Animals (2025) by Sean Byrne
Shark movies are released regularly, and they often go over the top bigger sharks, crazier action scenes... Sean Byrne’s way of refreshing the formula is by adding a dangerous serial killer who’s obsessed with sharks.

The movie quickly introduces the villain, who, with no real motive beyond pleasure, sacrifices people to sharks and films their agony as if he were collecting holiday memories.

The tense scenes are well-paced, even if sometimes you find yourself thinking, “Just kill him already!” The characters are introduced smoothly and quickly, getting straight to the point so we can return to the ocean action. The movie makes you wonder: who is more dangerous the shark, who just wants to eat, or the man, who kills to satisfy his twisted fantasies?

Jai Courtney clearly had fun playing this role. He looks comfortable and fully commits to portraying this madman. At first he seems rough, but once at sea, he shows his true colors. Hassie Harrison is great as a free-spirited young woman living in a van with her surfboard. Her adventurous lifestyle makes it believable that she can handle the extreme situations she faces.

Dangerous Animals is a fun movie to watch with friends. It’s not amazing, but it mixes two familiar genres in a clever way and brings something fresh to the table.
