Oh, Hi!

Was pleasantly surprised by this movie, expected it to turn to horror around every corner.

This movie gave me more anxiety than made me laugh. Molly Gordon is such a good actress I fully believed her in this movie.

The movie really wasn’t sure where it wanted to go. Early on romance, passion, and sex, followed by comedy and dark twists, then to a melodramatic attempt to convey the message and theme of the movie. Which, if I understand correctly, was simply that modern dating sucks? And I guess that’s a pretty good message to convey, but the movie really took a strange and convoluted path to make the point. I’ll admit I at least had a couple chuckles, mostly at the absurdity of the events transpiring.

This started out pretty good but absolutely fizzled the longer it went on. I really wanted to like this but it just didn’t do much. I don’t even understand what the point of it was. I’ve always been a fan of Logan Lerman and it was nice to see him acting again. I feel like I haven’t seen him around in forever. Molly Gordon was the standout here though. She absolutely killed this role. She was so much fun and played crazy so well. This was definitely a standout role for her. I liked the dynamic between her and Logan but it just never went anywhere. There’s really not much to say about this. It’s pretty much as average as average gets.

By coincidence I saw “The Bear S02 E05” right after this, and Molly Gordon sows the seeds for this story in that episode. Sheesh. Go watch it. Quite funny actually.
