Hilarious movie. Just make sure you DON'T watch the unrated version. Watch the original.
Before anything else I want to say this is extremely well shot, directed, and edited, and even mildly revisiting this review for revision makes all that so much more apparent.
Not Another Teen Movie opening scene, gender bent. Causing step mom an accident that breaks her arm is a horrid opener.
The poor step mom so much after that, every time with good news or baked goods.
Monica/Amanda Crew as Felicia is such a bayyyybeeeee 😍 And so much early representation of her facial acting.
The two Alpha kids, which includes an early NO REGERTS from Meet The Miller's, are a riot. An easily forgotten set of C-Characters that are a delight every time they're on screen. I appreciate the *real* score miming. So many productions wouldn't go to that musical accuracy.
James Marston as Rex is also a delight minus the rough homophobia, but it's a resolved and addressed in an earnest way. And it's apparent from the second, if not first, scene, that there's clues of this.
Earnestly, this is a good road trip movie in its town to town shots. The vibe of a road trip is palpable.
Carol/Linda from Ted Lasso/Better Off Ted as Brandy was a nice surprise! Completely forgot about her being in this...or anything her scenes entailed lol.
Purple soda! 💥
Lmao at the Arrested Development like web page insets. They're only used 3 times and at the end, but so good.
Seth Green is enough reason to revisit or watch this movie. "Good luck with the future ride, Space Man!" and "I miss sarcasm" before he lays the sarcasm on thick *relentlessly*.
The FOB acoustic track for the emotional mood shift is a nice moment.
... And then Lance goes and shits on it. Perfect rug pull.
Rex losing his shit about the Judge being gone and murdering that garage door is so fucking good. Gut bustingly excellent performance.
This movie is so good in spots and so rough in others (mostly in the grossness).
The fake Jaws theme is a nice touch for the post-not-glory hole scene
Brian Posein is great in his bit, love seeing him.
Lol he's still got the handcuff at the abstinence event
Old OG YouTube layout! How nostalgic in 2024.
"DEN-
TIST"
as a sign for a dentist in Kentucky is just inspired. So many good jokes in here.
Beware of Attack Dentist is equally good.
Aping "Danger Zone" for an action scene that's a second callback F&F scene in a sex romp movie is hilarious. I love it.
The opossum Office Space scene going from compassion for the critter they hit to JUST DIE ALREADY is PERFECTION of tonal whiplash. I feel Mike Bolton in this scene's DNA. "They don't make little wheel chairs for them!"
Lol, Shitheyd/Shithead as one of the convicts in the women's prison
22 romantic themed rooms to choose from at the motel 😂
Rex's bike fucking spinning a second time after he did the same going to check on The Judge, but in the motel parking lot is so good, and then...
Disco Inferno needle drop for the fight in the Firefighting Sex Cave is PEAK.
Great sound space on the drums and sax/horns in the car for the soundtrack. Well done scoring team.
The disappointment that Felicia has when she slinks away in the back of the Judge is excellent acting.
The f+f guys being the what's up boys is one of the bestoments in the movie.
And then the ex boyfriend of Linda showing up when all the car stuff goes down is incredible.
Working the mouth during the standoff is incredible
"That donut ain't fuckin around"
"I'm proud of you. I mean that. I don't say it enough" 😍
"Don't move asshole or you're a fuckin stain.", Excellent character arc moment.
More "Can't fight this feeling anymore" needle drop goodness
Sex->Shoe Tree is a nice little fake out
This is definitely an ESH (Everyone sucks here) movie, minus Felicia/Amanda Crew's character, who is absolutely pulled in all directions thorighout this tumultuous story.
Grandma couch and grandma blanket nooooo
Amish Seth Green with FOB is so good, but then it hits with "City Folk are always trying to solve things with money."
9/10
Seth Green had me rolling, hilarious!!
This movie is not good. It is you standard high school comedy about getting laid. And yes, I absolutely love it. I still found myself laughing as much this time as I did in my teens and I will certainly watch this countless more times!

Pretty good
Like Eurotrip but worst.
Caught it on TV, it was a lot better than expected
Tight script, good pacing, so much fun.
When he gets his rage on James Masters is hilarious. :)
Nice to see Clark Duke playing a role that gets the girls.
Seth Green's Amish had me in tears.
"Rumspringa!!!"
Rock solid teen comedy. Good acting, plot ties in all the main characters, there's good character development. Some parts are a bit frustrating and unrealistic but hey that's what makes movies movies and real life, real life. Favorite character was probably the sarcastic amish guy, very funny. All around 7/10
Funnier the second time around :P
[4.5/10] I rarely love this type of movie, but every now and then one surprises me. Unfortunately, Sex Drive didn’t break the mold. I definitely got several good chuckles out of it though! James Marsden fully committed to his role, and I knew from the start that he'd be a highlight. Unsurprisingly, I also really enjoyed Seth Green's character!
That said, the story itself was pretty forgettable. It wasn’t exactly boring, but it didn’t leave much of an impression. I really didn't care about anything that happened, which would have been fine if it was a bit funnier. I could have enjoyed it more had I been in a very specific mood for the genre or watched with the right friends. Maybe the unrated version would’ve been a better pick?
In the end, I’m glad I finally crossed it off my watchlist, but I doubt I’ll revisit it.
Hilarious movie. Just make sure you DON'T watch the unrated version. Watch the original.
