Well, personally I thought it was a really cute romantic comedy. All of the critiques are valid; but come on! Who was expecting a masterpiece? It’s a feel good movie! And it made me feel good! I don’t expect Oscar worthy performances, plots, or casting in this genre of films… It was decent movie for exactly what it was. Enough said.

Mild spoilers and major gripes ahead.

#1. Making Katy O'Brian straight is a hate crime.

#2. The Pick Me / Not Like Other Girls energy is off the charts. Why bring this vibe to a movie that centers a female owned and operated business??? "I prefer wheels to heels" BARF. "I was playing with wrenches instead of Barbies." Why not both??? I LOVED the idea of a nail salon in a girlie repair shop but the main character was so dismissive of anything femme. It's just dumb. The best scenes were with the girls, I wish this was a buddy movie focused on the girls saving their cool local business rather than a romantic film.

#2. The love interest is a bad person with no redeeming qualities. He literally uses the phrase "keyboard warrior" at one point and salivates at the chance to destroy a small business. Absolute normie capitalist loser. This movie will not gaslight me into thinking he's redeemable after seeing how he is at work. NOPE. His response to her losing the shop is DISGUSTING. He does NOTHING to make up for destroying her family business and then they're suddenly flirting with him wtffff???? He's a gross douchebag corporate bro. VOM.

#3. We're supposed to believe in 2025 that he is the first person to being up electric engines like it's some brilliant cutting edge idea -_-

#4. The main character's personal conflict makes zero sense - her dream is to run a classic car repair shop?? Girl, just do it! Why would her dad be disappointed?! If it's because he wanted to repair regular cars, then she could just do both! She's already lost most of her business, specializing would only make sense, even before the main conflict with the competing big shop across the street. I just can't stand when movies present the OBVIOUS solution early on but then we all have to be dragged through the hemming and the hawing only for the plot to do what we all knew was going to happen 60-90+ minutes ago.

#5. Why is Matteo Lane carrying a plant everywhere. I appreciate plant-gay representation, being a proud new mommy to a gorgeous little burgundy rubber tree myself, but it's just so tacky corny lazy and played out to have him carrying one around like it's his only personality trait.

#6. Yes, I also hated You Got Mail.

Is this a remake? I mean, one character literally says the line “shop around the corner” and there’s a business in the movie called “You Got Nails”.
