Lights in the Dusk

Outcast by his co-workers and living alone, Koistinen is a security guard who works the night shift in a luxury shopping mall in Helsinki. But when icy blonde Mirja approaches him, the lonely Koistinen falls helplessly for her, unaware she is manipulating him for her criminal boyfriend.
Not the easiest Kaurismäki film to love, which mostly comes down to the main protagonist - while at least somewhat likable - being such a fatally stupid piece of meat. So the viewer has to decide for himself if he admires his questinable loyalty, not incriminating a (definitely guilty) person who framed him and basically sent him (definitely innocent) to prison… or if that dumb fuck hero should just have sung like a bird. But you know, in real life, sometimes stupid people do stupid things for stupid reasons.
