it was... not bad. Nothing groundbreaking, but it kept me hooked enough to sit through the whole thing without complaining. 7/10.

I absolutely love Succession so, I was really looking forward to this. I couldn't have been more disappointed, incredibly average in every aspect. I struggled to get through it in all honesty.

Disappointing.

The first hour really took me in, with strong “Succession” vibes. It struggled a bit through the middle — there really isn’t a proper second act. And as soon as it gets to the sauna, I think it leaves a lot on the table. I could imagine a much more interesting plot twist at the end that I think this all comes down to a huge opportunity missed.

Interesting enough to keep me watching until the end but mediocre at the same time... and after Succession a real disappointment!!!

Acabei de ver o filme Mountainhead, a primeira hora foi bastante agradavel, estavam a falar de temáticas relevantes e atuais, como o uso de LLMs com filtros e sem filtros, o seu uso malicioso para gerar fake news - mundo começa literalmente a desabar - a intenção da criação do famoso AGI, conversas sobre as pessoas virarem “super pessoas” com toda a nova tecnologia adquirida, entre outras tematicas. mas do nada na segunda parte do filme 3 dos 4 amigos unem-se para matar o 4 elemento que possui uma empresa de Inteligencia Artificial com filtros ditos seguros e fidedignos, que complementaria a IA de um deles que é o homem mais rico do mundo, mas como se recusou vender a sua empresa entao decidem mata-lo. no final fazem uma extorsão (prendem-no numa sauna e ameaçam-no queimar vivo ate ele ceder basicamente) e no final nem houve uma grande revelação, um grande plot twist, nada. o dono da casa que era o menos rico deles, “só” tinha 500M, era o unico que nao tinha atingido a casa do biliao, acaba por vender a sua empresa por 2B, mas e depois? isso acrescentou o que na narrativa?
o homem mais rico do mundo e o outro que tinha a IA com filtros seguros acabam a dar um abraço e a terem uma conversa ambigua, aberta e sem uma grande conclusão ou desfecho. a personagem do Steve Carrell (um dos motivos pelo qual vi o filme) tinha cancro e simplesmente acabou com ele a seguir sozinho num carro enquanto olhava para os outros 2 abraços. Primeira parte do filme 8/10, segunda parte um 4.

I have no idea what this movie was trying to achieve. It’s riddled with technical inaccuracies and misrepresents the behavior of the people it portrays. Set in what appears to be a luxury chalet in Davos, Switzerland, the film completely wastes its setting—neither the architecture nor the surrounding landscape is used to any visual advantage. And the writing? It feels like it was generated by ChatGPT.

A complete waste of time.

Weak, filler episode of wannabe spinoff of Succession.

The first half, while necessary, is a real drag to get through but when you finally summon the will to accept the absurdity of it all you can kind of get close to potentially enjoying it. Can't imagine ever intentionally rewatching this though.

If you manage to get through the first third it gets marginally better. Still a complete waste of time though.
