[Cannes '25] Few films offer a normalized view of the emotional needs of neurodivergent individuals, and this one does so with subtlety and the complexity of diverse relationships that can sometimes be confusing. However, the film lacks a greater drive to allow its characters to transcend the screen beyond a sketchy representation lacking in emotional depth. In its visual approach, it attempts to offer a nuanced depiction of personal relationships and relies on the camera's closeness to bodies, but ultimately remains a discreet representation that reflects on how the bond between mother and child remains intact.
