Battlestar Galactica

I can almost not believe a below 7 average rating. This is another one of the influencial movies for me. It cemented my interest in science fiction further after having watched _Space 1999_ and of course _Star Wars_. I wasn't yet into _Star Trek_. Instead I watched this almost maniacal. Of course as a young boy I was much more into the action with all the space fights and the gleaming robots. Only later I discovered the mythology within the story and how it relates to us. I read the books and watched the series.

In any case I think the movie is underappreciated. The sfx for the time where good and as I mentioned there was a good story there. You really have to think of it more as a pilot because this is only the beginning of the tale. Glen A Larson once said his only regret is that they didn't run long enough (the series). He indicated that there where lots of possibilitys this could have gone and I absolutely believe that. You only have to look what they got out of the re-make.

This is still one of my all time favorites that I haven't seen for the last time.

A classic space-war movie. A must-see for lovers of the genre. It laid the basis for the franchise.

That old summer series turned into a movie

Loved the series as a kid.
Unless I'm mistaken, the film is just the first 3 episodes without the epilogue and not an edit of the first and fifth episodes.
