A policeman becomes a Shadwell hooligan.

I remember the trailer for this in the 90s. I Thought it would just be gritty and violent. It's got way more to give. I was suprised how suspenseful it was, knowing the looming threat gave a real sense of despair. The character's main transformation was simple but very powerful. Maybe a little unbelievable at first, but near the end you believe that the story could have brought what happened out in him. He felt he belonged to a certain class and it provided a stimulation frlm his boredom. The very end was not what I expected. Very sad. Very dark.
