This is a great movie by Jean-Pierre Melville, not that he made anything ever really bad in any case. The quiet storytelling only underlines the gravity of the subject, and the acting, from well known figures of the 60's french cinema, is superb, served by a great score by Eric de Marsan. It may be worth to add that this was a personal subject from Melville, he having been in the French resistance during WWII, and he knew quite well what he was talking about.

As for the people who found it long and boring, I suggest you stick to your usual action flicks and stop subjecting yourself with movies that might endanger your brain by forcing you to think.

There may need to be a prohibition on people who would negatively describe a film as "boring" from watching them.

The original title of the film is L'Armée des Ombres.

Great film that tells the story of the French resistance during the Nazi invasion, good actors, direction and script.

Was expecting more from this. Have to say it’s long, dull and fairly boring.
