I remember really loving this movie when I first watched it 15 years ago. It's funny how perspectives change and I now have very different feelings for the characters than I remember. I guess that's what they call the coming of age.

Another film I don't really know how to properly review. It was a really funny and dramatic film, and quite honestly, I don't really know what else to say about it, because this is another one of those films you have to see to really kind of grasp fully.

Old man at the bus stop was a great metaphor for refusing change and eventually moving on.

A worthwhile comedy about the struggles of moving from childhood to adulthood. Features a young Scarlet Johanson and the always awesome Steve Buscemi.

Well that was a decent film with strong messages and with a good sense of humor and cast, definitely played the right record!

“Ghost World” is a really strange coming-of-age film with eccentric characters and very special humor. But it's also quite interesting; the dynamic between high school misfit Enid (Thora Birch) and the much older outsider Seymour (Steve Buscemi) definitely has something going for it. Scarlett Johansson, who is quite big on the poster, on the other hand, only plays a minor role.

Ultimately, almost the entire movie follows Enid, who doesn't want to adapt to the world and is alienated by everything that is expected of her. She also becomes increasingly estranged from her only friend. The pacing isn't always successful, Enid isn't exactly likeable, and “Ghost World” doesn't really find a satisfying finale. The journey is definitely interesting, but I honestly don't really know what to make of the movie after watching it.
