Crazy story. My heart breaks for the grandparents. Just when I thought the story was coming to a close, BAM more horrifying things happened. So it only makes sense that it ends in literally the most tragic way. Reading the description, I did not think it was going to take that dark of a turn. One of the documentaries that you remember forever.

This film hit me hard. I felt the passion and anger along with Kate and David, and I felt so sad for all the people who lost such a great friend, brother, son in Andrew. It's tragic and the worst thing about it was the fact that the death of Zachary was completely preventable.

After watching, it must added to the collection of depressing movies. This one is even more powerful because it's a true story and it's just heartbreaking. A real must watch !

This was a brilliant documentary. I thought the way this footage was edited and pieced together to tell this story was so impactful and masterful - there are some incredibly piercing sequences and juxtapositions, as well as the narrative organisation from a broader point of view and the journey Kuenne takes us on - it's just really well done. Some could fault it for being too emotional, but in my opinion I think it's so fortunate that one of Andrew Bagby's closest friends was a filmmaker, cus it gave us a special kind of true crime documentary, one that we wouldn't be able to experience had this been made by someone distant from the family, and one we don't get to see often, that honours the lives lost and truly reminds you that these aren't just stories, but real people.

Watched Dead Zachary: A Letter To A Som About His Father with Iva in my room. This documentary had a ton of personality with the editing. Felt like something Tim would make. The grandparents were absolutely incredible people. It would be psychologically so hard to continue to see your son’s killer. I can’t believe Canada’s judicial system just let walk free. “Her actions were violent in nature to an individual and not the public so she’s considered safe.” What the fuck. She’s an awful person. Rated a 8.9. 📹

even knowing a bit about this story, the experience of this tribute is so meaningful. i'm glad to be able to have seen it, even if it was heartbreaking.

>"I decided to make a movie, to travel far and wide, to interview everyone who ever knew and loved Andrew."

Wow, what a roller coaster of emotion this was. Mainly anger, but definitely heartbroken moments too. I don't know if I would be able to make a documentary like this if my best friend died, and I am not sure if I would recommend this to others mainly because it is so devastating.
