Out of the Furnace

Très bon jeu d'acteur... ! Bale and Harrelson font une très belle paire. L'histoire est un peu banale, mais les émotions sont très présentes dans ce film.

‘Out of the Furnace’ tells a gripping - although somewhat predictable - story, that focuses mainly on its characters and their emotions, choices and motives. The cast here is truly exceptional, especially Bale and Harrelson, delivering real and raw performances.

We might think that Out of the Furnace is just another revenge thriller and the story points to that direction, but in this film we are asked for read between the lines and the most beautiful thing that this film has is some symbolisms hidden between some powerful and beautiful moments.

Christian Bale is an amazing actor no doubt about it and in here once again he totally absorbes the character and we can feel the pain and frustration of a man who could have had a different life but unfortunate circunstances of life lead him into a different direction. Woody Harrelson is another great actor that in my opinion never disappoints. He is especially good doing this kind of scumbag character. Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson are definitely the main stars of this film but another performance that needs a high light is Casey Affleck's performance. He also did a great job. William Dafoe, Zoe Saldana and Forest Whitaker were all equally good as a supporting cast.

The atmosphere is perfect for the dark tone that the film wants to transmit, although there's a few plot wholes and things that I would like to have seen clarified, this is a film of absolutely wonderful performances and it's incredible depth makes it a good film.

I have to confess that I was a little bit reticent about if I still wanted to see this film or not because I've been reading a lot of bad things about it but I'm glad that I watched it because after all it's worth it. I really enjoyed it.

Excellent movie, but not my favorite theme.

Awesome acting indeed. However, that's the only good thing in this movie. The story is "meh". Such a waste of time and those brilliant actors!

I liked the action, didn't think much on the plot, wasn't hot enough when coming out the furnace.. liked the characters and the cast that played them.. over all fair.
