So ridiculous that it's kinda watchable.

'The Crow: Wicked Prayer' is not a good movie. However, it commits so hard to what it wants to do that I was kinda locked on to just see where it would go next. It particularly goes off the rails towards the conclusion, especially with David Boreanaz's Luc. There are many, many issues with this 2005 release, but I honestly didn't hate viewing it.

I think what helps (relatively speaking) is that there are quite a few familiar faces on the cast, which definitely keeps you watching - or it does for me, at least. You have the aforementioned Boreanaz, as well as Tara Reid, Danny Trejo and Dennis Hopper. Emmanuelle Chriqui is in there too. The main face that I didn't know of was actually Edward Furlong, who plays the titular character.

Furlong's performance isn't, like the film in general, anything worth praising. Again though, he proper goes for it so his onscreen presence never annoyed me. Nothing about this really irritated me to be honest, it's just plainly obvious from pretty much the get-go that the flick isn't anything all that good so I guess my expectations were low.

I'd rather rewatch this than 'The Crow: City of Angels', so that's something. Eager to now see how this year's reboot does things.

Terrible!
I watched whole The Crow movies in one night and all I can say is what the? What was that? Maybe it would have been better if they hadn't written The Crow in the movie's name. After three films, I had a hard time making sense of this movie. Sad.

In its fourth installment, The Crow: Wicked Prayer, the series falls back into campy, B-movie territory. Based on one of the better Crow novels, the story follows a satanic group that’s on a killing spree and the Crow, who resurrects an avenger to stop them. The casting is rather poor, and includes Edward Furlong, David Boreanaz and Tara Reid; none of whom give much of a performance. However, the Crow depiction is rather interesting; as he’s a reluctant and conflicted avenger with a dark past. But the material is dragged down by the poor filmmaking. The Crow: Wicked Prayer is a messy and bizarre film that’s not very engaging.

Race in this is so wild. The only trainwreck of the series thus far, and thus has the same appeal. Terrible racial casting, an incoherent script, flat villains that could’ve been much more, and the most ill fitting Crow. Boreananz hams it up as a spin on his Angelus, and Dennis Hopper must be seen to be believed, so it’s not completely without entertainment value. But anytime they’re not on screen the film drags and fails at anything it aims to do. Overall while having its moments, the Crow films seem like a concept past its due date, and I doubt the remake will change that opinion.

The Crow franchise went straight downhill after the first movie...and I'd be suprised if if can ever be resurrected after this peice of unnecessarily evil torture. The Crow franchise has some dodgy plots - but in this case, I can't even really understand or summarise it.

I have to wonder what Danny Treo and David Boreanaz were doing in this turkey - maybe it was a favour for some or just a light period in the commitments.

But no matter how big a fan you are of these two guys, or The Crow, just walk away.

During the opening credits of "Wicked Prayer," I was somewhat surprised that I had already seen every single actor mentioned in several other projects. After watching the film, however, I was more surprised that they all found work afterward. It almost seems like a competition to see who can deliver the worst performance. In the end, Edward Furlong and Tara Reid probably win, even if David Boreanaz as Satanist cult leader Luc is not far behind. However, it's not just the weak acting that drags the film down, but also the rather cheap look, the amateurish staging, and the story dripping with clichés. After "Wicked Prayer," it would have been appropriate to let the crow rest. The only ray of hope is that things can't get any worse.

It doesn’t get much worse than this. Absolutely awful in every way. Bad acting, terrible script, ridiculous costumes. Completely loses sight of any of the series stronger features, doesn’t even have a soundtrack. Do yourself a favor and skip this one, it’s not the even an enjoyable type of bad.
