Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

I loved the movie up until like 2 minutes before it ends.
The fact that it was all a dream completely screws it up - I'd loved the epic ending of "I made a mistake".
brilliant movie. Nice twist that you don't see coming. They could have changed the ending a little bit otherwise great watch.

Actually I just wanted to have a quick look, but then I watched the film Next (2007) with Nicolas Cage until 2 a.m. And it was worth it. I already loved this film when it was released. The somewhat different time travel story with the perfect touch of romance. Jessica Biel and Nicolas Cage harmonize wonderfully in this film, which hits the mark with its surprising twist at the end. I have to admit that I am a little bit influenced by my enthusiasm back then. Today some effects look a bit cheap. Also, Cage is and never was the best actor. But this role fits him perfectly. Besides Face/Off and The Rock my favorite movie with him.

Surprisingly good action flick about a "magician" that can see into the future and is recruited by the FBI to help defuse a nuclear bomb.

Yes, the ending kinda sucks, but at the same time it was interesting and could happen because only with her he sees more far away, not just 2 minutes ahead. I'd prefer a better ending, but still it was fun and interesting to watch, totally worth it.

Philip K. Dick’s work gets butchered in the outlandish action film _Next_. When intelligence indicates an imminent nuclear attack, the FBI naturally launches a manhunt for Vegas magician and suspected psychic Frank Cadillac so that he can tell them where the bomb is. The story is hopelessly ridiculous and the acting is awful: Nicolas Cage and Jessica Biel are completely miscast and have no chemistry together. Additionally, the special effects are especially poor. But, there are some fun bits of humor and a couple of exciting action scenes. _Next_ is a poorly made film, yet is still kind of entertaining.
