Really good movie that is especially appealing to fans of the original series which includes me. I was really thrilled that this movie was made and Veronica's story was continued after season three's end was anything but a fitting end for the series.
It was just great to see Veronica back in avtion after all these years. One thing I didn't like was how they handled Veronica's relationship eith Piz. They were so good together and their break-up by telephone seemed way to rush. But I guess this is the price to pay by making a film which was previously a TV show. Apart from this it's a cool movie with familar faces and an interesting story. I'm just so glad that there is a new season now.

In all honesty, this movie is in a category very few t.v. to movie films make it into. The way this movie started and finished all very nice. After watching the movie, I wanted to go back and re-watch all the tv show episodes!

Based on the highly acclaimed television series, _Veronica Mars_ is an atmospheric, noir thriller. The story follows aspiring New York City lawyer Veronica Mars as she’s drawn back to her hometown of Neptune, CA when her former boyfriend Logan Echolls is accused of murdering his pop star girlfriend. Directed and co-written by the show’s creator Rob Thomas, the film maintains the sophisticated and clever tone that made the series so compelling. And, most of the original cast members return, including Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Krysten Ritter, and Tina Majorino. Plus, there are a number of fun celebrity cameos. A well-crafted and exciting crime drama, _Veronica Mars_ is an excellent continuation of the extraordinary television show from which it came.

First: if you don't know / didn't like the tv show, this is probably not for you, it's not pure fan service, but a lot of the enjoyment comes from the past of all those characters.

It's not perfect. How could it be, there is no way it can live up to seven years of expectations. The fact that it even got made was probably a minor miracle (even when I'm not a fan of the fans-take-the-risk-studio-gets-the-profits model, it worked).

But what Rob Thomas did well was capture a lot of the old charm, the pop culture references, the snarky comments. The murder mystery plot itself was only somewhat interesting, but that's probably not the reason anyone is watching in the first place, right? The plot is basically a tool to get a ton of old characters some screen time, make some references to their past, portray some big changes, or total lack thereof, have them trade some verbal (or physical) punches. I enjoyed the little things a lot, like the reference to the FBI hail mary season 4 teaser, the favor asked of Wallace, stuff like that, that make a fan happy.

But not everything was sunshine, I got a bit annoyed but some of the story arcs they started for no good reason, but then left totally unresolved (Wevil, for example). Sure, there are books by Rob Thomas that are canon, but it's just not the same, and I don't realistically expect anything new in movie or TV show form.
