"Don't ask, it's a good fist if it wins."

I must be honest, I haven't seen much of Jet Li's work outside of his US films and Hero/Once Upon a Time in China but I think Fist of Legend must be his best.

Fist of Legend has the classic kung-fu story of a fallen martial arts school and I happen to enjoy those a lot. It has Jet Li as intense as I've ever seen him. It has at least 2 great fights and 1 epic fight. The Epic one is the fight before the final fight between Jet Li's Chen Zhen and Yasuaki Kurata's Funakoshi. The setting is great. The grass, the leaves, it all fits. I really enjoyed that one a lot.

Anyway Fist of Legend had more to the story then I anticipated on. I loved the political side of it. We even get a bit of murder mystery. Jet Li cutting out the liver of his fallen master is great.

So yeah Fist of Legend was a great way to finish off this saturday and thank you Mr. DuLac for this great recommendation! Can't wait to see some more of Jet Li.

One of my favorite kung fu movies. Mitsuko is such a cutie in it and Jet Li shows such power and flexibility. The plot itself is classic and based off Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury. I personally like this rendition more because it ends happy. The fight with Mitsuko's uncle was really entertaining. I personally loved the character and the dialogue. The racism is really sad and shows a deeply rooted hatred that probably exists to this day. I hope that like this movie, love will conquer all.

Very reminiscent of Bruce Lee's _The Chinese Connection_ where a devoted student returns home after hearing of the death of his teacher/mentor. Some of the best fight scenes (outside of Bruce Lee's) that you'll see in a martial arts film, and very well acted. I must admit, there are a LOT of the scenes here that almost directly mirror _The Chinese Connection_ but it still merits watching. Jet Li is excellent, and the rest of the cast do a great job in their respective roles. There are a handful of scenes that are almost laughable but all in all, it's definitely worth watching.

If this film had a bigger budget I would give it a much higher rating as the music and some of the sets let the film down, otherwise, this is an awesome Kung Fu film and Jet Li (Chen Zhen) proves himself in this film as one of the best martial arts actors of all time with his emotional performance coming through in every scene whether it be a dialogue-based scene or a fight sequences.

Which brings me on to the action, it is amazing and kung fu fans will not be disappointed as all of the martial arts performers in this film were top tier and also the choreography was perfect in every scene. I also really liked the romances in the film as both love interests felt natural and not forced in anyway.

It isn't an easy film to track down but when you do just remember.........SUBS OVER DUBS!!!!!!!!!!
