A Better Tomorrow II

Best part of this trilogy.

A fine action film even if the twin brother just happening to exist for the sequel, being cliche. Chow Yun Fat back either way is very good thing.
Since Chow is excellent of course. As is Leslie Cheung as a grieving and broken man who must learn to fight again after losing everything.

Don't know why I love these films so much, but I do and I think it is because though some of the dialogue and story is janky it has such good acting and action that I just find myself gripped from start to finish. This film picks up a couple of years after the first one and it ups the story/action in every way, with the brotherly love between Ti Lung (Sung Chi Ho), Chow Yun-Fat (Ken Gor) and Leslie Cheung (Kit) making this film almost very emotional at certain points.

The action in this film is sooooooo good as you get some amazing shoot out scenes and also Chow Yun-Fat makes these films so special as he is perfect and balancing the action with a little bit of comedy in between.

If you like films like John Wick, then I urge you to check out early John Woo films as they show where the template for action and story are inspired from for modern Hollywood films, but just remember SUBS OVER DUBS!!!!!!!
