Wolf Creek 2

I really enjoyed the first movie but the second was fantastic. It honestly didn’t go as I expected and I had a wonderful time with this. I gotta say that this is definitely one of my all time favorite horror movies.

So good the movie funny,brutal and exciting

Much, MUCH better than the original, IMO. This time the movie was every bit (and then some!) as gruesome and violent as you were probably expecting the first one to be. The opening scene with the Aussie "Highway Patrol" set the tone as the sequel set a course to turn John Jarratt's "Mick Taylor" character into the brutal psychotic that you thought he was going to be in the original _Wolf Creek_. This time, however, they pulled no punches and Mick Taylor was just as deranged and sadistic as you imagined he could be, and John Jarratt played the part brilliantly. After re-watching the first one (and I was _still_ disappointed) to kind of set the tone for this sequel, I wasn't expecting much. Was I ever in for a shock: this movie is brilliantly done and just as violent and gruesome as I'd heard. Parts of it, yeahhhh...it almost seemed like "overkill" (pardon the pun!) just for the sake of bloody violence: I mean, the whole "field-dressing" the boyfriend, etc...that just seemed to be violence for the sake of violence and didn't really serve any purpose to the film. Added absolutely nothing...but the "Australian Trivia" scene, now that is what you might expect from a psychotic. Overall, this was far better than the original and a gruesome, gory, and pleasant surprise. If you like brutal, graphic violence and can tolerate...well, actually no...if you LIKE really gory scenes and horror movies that have you squirming uneasily in your seat wondering what's going to happen, I highly recommend this one. I was hugely disappointed in the original but this sequel certainly made up for it!

Compared to the first movie, this second instalment is much more fitting in this genre. Strait off the bat, I got the shock killing that I have forgotten all about since the last time I watched this. I’m definitely rating this a notch higher than the first movie.

You can usually tell when a jump scare is coming up, but this movie has the most unexpected jump scare I've ever seen. Completely caught me off guard.

Here are the things I learned from Wolf Creek 2:

1. DON'T GO TO AUSTRALIA
2. But if you do, learn the entire history of the country.
3. Don't stand out as a tourist
4. Mind your damn business
5. Being a smart-ass may save your life

If you can't do any of that, then don't go. But if you can, WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA COCKSUCKERS!

I think this one got too high on the Mick supply. It’s too enamored with him, and it results in a film caught between self aware tongue in cheek slasher cult of personality and the darkness of the first, not really nailing either. Jarret is having fun, which both works for and against the film. He definitely feels more ‘slasher icon’ now than anyone you could actually meet, They tried to ramp up Mick’s enmity for the lead, try and make it personal, but it’s not as compelling as Kirsty and Liz just trying to get each other out. Brief moments of fun or intensity aren’t enough to keep it from dragging after a while. Makes me wonder if the show manages to keep it going across, what, 12 hours?

Love the opening scene, it's bloody awesome and really sets the tone. The film continues being fun until the "trivia" scene where it promptly slows to a crawl. Then, after ALL that, the movie concludes with text over a black background as if they reshot the ending to make it a bit more hopeful? Kind of a cop out, to be honest... 2/3rds great, 1/3rd meh.
