Off the coast of the volcanic island of Santorini, the intrepid archaeologist Lara Croft makes the unexpected discovery of a pulsating golden orb able to guide its holder to the mythical Pandora's Box. As the legendary artifact contains ancient mysteries of unfathomable power - said to contain one of the deadliest plagues on Earth, Lara is tasked by MI6 to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. With the aid of former Marine turned mercenary Terry Sheridan, she travels the world in pursuit of the precious item in a race against time; she must beat the unscrupulous Nobel Prize-winning scientist turned bioterrorist, Jonathan Reiss, to it.

I‘ve seen The Cradle of Life in the theatre when it was released on 2003. I loved the movie then and it‘s still one of my favorites 20 years later. The score by Alan Silvestri is amazing too. I still listen to it once in a while. In general the movie has anything you would expect from a Tomb Raider film and on top there‘s Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. The role could not have been cast better back then. It‘s really a shame they did not make a third film. Still I love this sequel and imo it‘s even better than the first film.

Maybe not so good as the first one, but Lara is Lara and I love her adventures in movies.

Again, solid entertainment. Just watch and enjoy. It is no masterpiece but just an entertaining movie. Watch it as such and you will enjoy it.

Angelina Jolie is in better form as Lara. The direction is better, as is the action and the film is just less as goofy as the first.
It is still a forgettable sequel.

Maybe something inferior to the first, but just as entertaining and Angelina Jolie continues to do just as well.
A shark is coming and Lara gives her a punch, very realistic :-)

As I said in my comment on the first of these two movies, I'm in it for the tits...plain and simple. Jolie is perfect as Lara once again...and not so much because of her acting skills.

These two movies will always be a guilty pleasure of mine because the movies in themselves are not much to write home about. Though...the first one is somewhat better than this one.

Anyway...I'm shallow when it comes to these things. Not that I care mind you...

A mediocre to good action flick starring sexy Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. The plot is somewhat stupid: Lara is on the search for the "Pandora's Box" and has to find it before the evil scientist Dr. Reiss does. If you're looking for two hours of mindless action entertainment, you can consider "Cradle of Life". However, there are much better action movies available!

Angelina Jolie reprises her signature role in the action-packed adventure _Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life_. This time Croft is hired by MI6 to stop a mad scientist who is intent on finding the mythical Pandora’s Box and releasing its deadly contents into the world. Unfortunately Jolie’s performance is rather lifeless, and she doesn’t have much chemistry with co-star Gerard Butler. Additionally, the storytelling is poor, randomly going from place to place with characters dropping in and out without much explanation. An uninspired and wholly unnecessary sequel, _Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life_ is rubbish.

The good:
- I spend 2 minutes trying to think of something to at least give it something... But I couldn't. The movie was terrible

The bad:
- No perky breasts
- The casting
- The classical Lara Craft look was missing
- Bad CG...
- NO TOMB RAIDING WHAT SO EVER??!
- The charming side kicks took a back seat and barely had any presence
- The plot... It was dogshit. So was the first one... But that one had some good things going for it at least
- No tight shirts... Cmon man...
- No sexy slomo scene :(

— I’m not a movie critic or anything close but personally the first movie was more enjoyable. Plot for The Cradle of Life is simple, which it’s alright, first movie was too, but this movie felt too long for it, especially when in the first 30 minutes the whole story is told to you leaving nooo surprises and nothing to expect. Some said the end was a surprise, but was it really a surprise? Nah. Watched both movies when they first came out, I was a kid, I could remember a lot about the first movie but couldn’t remember anything about this one, it tells you that it didn’t get my attention back then and sure didn’t get my attention now. Angelina Jolie, spectacular as always, movie meh.
