The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane

Quiet, withdrawn 13-year-old Rynn Jacobs lives peacefully in her home in a New England beach town. Whenever the prying landlady inquires after Rynn's father, she politely claims that he's in the city on business. But when the landlady's creepy and increasingly persistent son, Frank, won't leave Rynn alone, she teams up with kindly neighbor boy Mario to maintain the dark family secret that she's been keeping to herself.

Every single character in this movie is a dysfunctional freak but that doesn't mean I didn't like the movie. It was an enjoyable suspense thriller that definitely touches on quite a few controversial subjects. There were some nice twists and Jodie Foster shows off some incredible acting skills for someone so young. The movie is quite weird though and those with a taste for safer fare should probably avoid this.

The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane (1976) - ❤x7

I never had the opportunity to watch this back in the day. But have done so today.
Jody Fosters' performance in this proves just how much of an incredible actor she is.
I was however shocked to see her being naked in this movie. So much so, I had to look it up to make sure they used a body double. They did. And to my surprise, it was her older sister who also body-doubled her in "Taxi Driver (1976)".

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

Creepy in parts, this strange film deserves more recognition. Flawed story, but Jodie Foster excels in a difficult role.

It was on my list of JF films I wanted to see. What made me? That was horrible.
