The Breakfast Club

Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal. The disparate group includes rebel John, princess Claire, outcast Allison, brainy Brian and Andrew, the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.

I don't think Allison's makeover is what makes Andy interested in her, as he was looking at her in a quite interested way just before Claire changed her looks. The coupling was unnecessary because they could all just stay friends, but I think the decision was to put on movie what the future would probably look like - that is, unless they made a "the next Monday" scene, there was no easy way to convey the idea that they would stay friends.

This movie holds up so well, which is why it's a classic this movie is so good and no matter where you go or went to school there's those stereotypes and this movie explores those different stereotypes all interacting with each other and sharing common issues. The nostalgia with this movie definitely helps but nonetheless this movie is incredible kinda wish {spoiler} they didn't couple in the end but that's really my only flaw with the movie.

This is my second time watching the breakfast club and I really forgot how great it is the plot is basic a group of teenagers in detention so it had no business being as good as it is ,but the way they made it was so clever.

Love the characters all 6 of them just got better as the film goes on ,like the way the film started with them being basically strangers then they all just get wackier 😂 it’s definitely one of the weirdest films I’ve seen but in the best of ways even just the completely random stuff they do.

John Bender for sure was the highlight he’s absolutely crazy but a great character him taking the fall so the others could get back to library showed great character development love the way he messes with teacher constantly.

Allison Reynolds was hilariously strange in this ,going from not talking at all to saying she sleeps with her therapist but she was just lying to get Claire to admit she’s a virgin.

Andrew Clark dancing scene was so funny with the Smoke that was in the room, the scene with all of them dancing together was awesome too.

It’s sadly probably not a film people would like in today’s society some of the dialogue wouldn’t be aloud for sure but I loved every bit of it.

Totally get why this is called a classic love the vibes to it and the soundtrack is so iconic will be stuck in my head for the next few days for sure.

Quite simply one of the best films of all time, the glory days of 80s coming of age cinema. John Hughes at his finest.

I loved it!! Horrors of laughter, adolescent dinners, psychological, family and social problems show us the intensity of a person's head in such a young phase. The different personalities, the ways to solve their problems and even the romance so immature hahahahaha. A well-made film.
