This is a moving love story set against the failing days of 1943 Berlin. Two women from very different worlds frame the story. Although the movie was written and directed by Max Färberböck, it is based on Erica Fischer’s book telling the actual lives of Lilly Wust and Felice Schragenheim, AIMEE & JAGUAR: A LOVE STORY, BERLIN 1943. At the time of the release of the movie, Lilly Wust was still living. She passed in 2006. The performances are a masterclass in acting by the two leads, Maria Schroeder and Juliane Hohler. The tale is both moving and interesting in its detail of otherwise untold history of the time. I give this film an 8 (moving and important) out of 10. [Historical Drama].
