Masterpiece. Or maybe i should say, Chef-d'oeuvre. It's so beautifully made, i wonder if what I'm seeing is actually real; everything is romance I feel like I have just started to learn the meaning of love. Yes its an homage to Hollywood musicals, but this marvelous work from Demy can't be fully explained by such a shallow term.

Lovely and light, like eating a rainbow sherbet on a warm day at the seashore. Beautiful use of color and I appreciated the music here much more than I do in Demy's "...Cherbourg." Maybe it was my imagination, but it felt in moments like I was hearing snippets that get used in La La Land? Also it was wild and jarring when Gene Kelly showed up randomly and spoke dubbed French.
