‘Ladies and Gentlemen... I give you... KONG! THE EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD!’

What a way to start watching the Monsterverse with rewatching this classic beast of a film the mixed reviews are really confusing I love this film a lot watched it so many times.

The CGI and special effects are very impressive for 2005 I much prefer that type of style looks so cool today they try way to much sometimes less is more, also the action scenes are fun and well done kong battles with the creatures and especially the T-Rex’s showing what a dominant ‘KING’ he is.

Even though this film is 3 hours I actually find it’s paced perfectly the build up to the island builds the characters and then the rest with them with kong on the island and New York I felt each part its own time to get you hooked with the story.

The cast was fantastic for this Naomi Scott was absolutely amazing definitely the standout performance, mad that people think Jack black was a poor casting choice I’ll admit it was a totally different role to what I’m used to seeing him play but he kinda was still himself but a bit more of being a selfish dickhead I thought he was great, and a special shoutout too Andy Serkis he’s such a talented actor not only did he play Lumpy he also voiced Kong I didn’t even know that until today he’s a class act.

The Skull island Natives literally Wtf I didn’t know whether to be creeped out by them or piss myself laughing because the way they acted let’s just say they was a memorable part even though they wasn’t in much of the film.

The Carnictis Worm creatures were so disgusting would hate to get killed by them I would rather get torn apart by the dinosaurs at least it would be quicker.

The special relationship between Kong and Anne is the best part of the film it’s so adorable and cute to watch the way he messes with her and then goes mad and strops when she doesn’t do what he wanted was hilarious 😆 love their chemistry so much.

And sadly we have to come to the ending 😢 I’ve always hated this part and wished I could just turn of at the part where he’s safe and happy with Ann, I remember when I was a kid this was one of the first films that made me emotional and upset and still have that feeling everytime and just makes me realise the reason I prefer animals over humans.

I’ll be giving this a 9 very close to a 10 as there’s nothing wrong with it and I wouldn’t change much about it so just being a little picky tbh but I do love this film.

“It wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast.”

Kong just wanted to be happy and he just wanted to be loved… Why couldn’t they just leave him in peace?

Top Hollywood blockbusters, three and a half hours of monster movies, hearty. King Kong's real boyfriend is bursting with strength, while protecting the hostess, he hardened three dinosaurs and finally took the hostess to watch the sunset.

The action is fantastic; as is the CGI. While Naomi Watts is strong in the role of Ann Darrow. I just don't like the same ending as the original.
Or the beauty killed the beast line. Carl Denham (Jack Black) should have died just for saying that. He took Kong off the island to begin with. It’s too long just to be pretty much the same movie but with a Kong you fall in love with. Just for him to have the usual fate.

I’ve seen this film many times in the past but I don’t remember the Brontosaurus stampede. It was done extremely well and had me on the edge of my seat. Peter Jackson is great because I really felt like I was there among the craziness.

twasnt beauty that killed the beast, rather it was capitalism and naked greed. but you know, that's not as catchy a line

I can't remember exactly why, but when this movie came out two decades ago, I didn't like it. I suspect its length was part of the reason. Looking back, I realise I felt this way about most Peter Jackson movies back then—they were all epic and rarely under two hours. Younger me probably didn't have the patience for that, especially on DVD.

Watching it now in 4K HDR was incredible. Now I'm on a mission to find more 20-year-old films that have been remastered in 4K HDR with Dolby Digital or Atmos sound. What a time to be alive.

First time seeing this since it was in theaters. I didn't like it in 2005, mostly because my expectations were set ***way*** too high by the creators behind the LotR trilogy teaming up again for this.

What I failed to grasp in 2005 was that this was a sweeping love letter to the 1933 RKO Pictures original; a remake, yes, but a *loving* remake nonetheless. I decided to rewatch it on a whim after an online discussion of it made me realize I never gave it a proper chance, and now I love it! It may not become a yearly rewatch like a bunch of other movies are for me, mostly because of its runtime, but if you were like me and didn't care for this when it was first released, give it another chance!
