Nine Miles Down

In the Sahara desert, a sandstorm batters a deserted drilling station. A security patrolman battles through the high winds to investigate why all contact with the station has been lost. Originally built for gas exploration, and then abandoned, the site had recently been taken over by a multi-national research team intent on drilling deeper into the earth’s crust than ever before.

The massive problem with this movie is that it never comes to a conclusion. Back and forth, back and forth, constantly shifting from one foot to the other. Is it real? Is it hallucination? The movie never decides and leaves the viewer just shrugging their shoulders and moving on to something else. Everything about the movie goes half-way and then quickly retreats to the other side of the fence. Even the ending "explanation" is half-hearted with no real basis of fact.
Nobody investigates or explains the bodies in the cesspool. The sounds of human screams in the cavern are dismissed as wind? Really? If it was all hallucinations driven by "mold," why do they continue after Jack is removed from the environment? The back and forth of "should I sleep with her but I love my wife" doesn't play either. I've buried the love of my life and I can tell you that true love never dies and no matter the temptation provided, there is no substitute for your one true love.
The premise was great, the opportunity for a unique story was wasted and this just ends up being another ho-hum film trying to impress you with it's vagueness and occult connections. With a more mature director and writing staff, this could have been something special. It remains just another also-ran in the Walmart DVD $5 bargain bin.

Does not start badly, but then it decays a lot, that there are 2 actors not good only on the platform does not help, it ends worse

Film that's as good as its end credits music: terrible.
