"A terrifying tale of sluts & bolts." You got exactly what you expect. Wacky, cheesy, and over the top but also insightful.

A true cult classic from the era when any crazy idea could be made.
At its core, this is a Bride of Frankenstein story. Very much a comedy, no real horror to speak of. Brough to you by the maker of _Basket Case_ (1982).
_Frankenhooker_ lacks the necessary elements to really push it over the edge into the realm of the truly fantastic. Instead what we have is a movie that survives on a concept alone. Well, that and Patty Mullen. Mullen is really the only reason I ever rewatch this. She's the stitches, and bolts holding this film together. It doesn't hurt at all that she is nude in the movie, I just wish there was more if it. You give me a dead girl with purple hair, dressed like a slut... I mean, come on, there's only so much I can take.
If you're a fan of cult movies, old Troma films, really just anything weird from the '80s or '90s, check it out.

"the humanity"

This is funnier than it has any right to be. Not being american I could never find mst3000 funny but if I did, this is what it would look like. Seriously there's a lot of subtle humor going on behind the wax gore, and it works. At least for me. This is going in my special pile of gore that tickles my bone, along with Braindead and Cabin in the woods. Not a small accomplishment.

Absolutely ridiculous, but worth watching. Me and my partner were in stitches (pun intended). If you like a silly, bad horror, this is it.

There's no question, of course, that "Frankenhooker" is not a "good" movie, but as a really dumb B-movie, this unconventional Frankenstein adaptation works extremely well. It helps that at no moment does it take itself even remotely seriously. The actors are awful, and the jokes are ultra-flat—in other words, just as things are supposed to be in this kind of production. At the same time, the effects are so lousy that they're actually good again—really, nothing about this flick seems "high quality". With the right expectations, though, the film is a fun watch. If you don't like horror comedies, you should keep your distance from this one, but for a trash movie night, I can definitely recommend "Frankenhooker".

This has some hilarious scenes and surprisingly sharp social satire. However, I don’t think it’s quite entertaining enough to cover up for its B-movie DNA. For every fun ‘bad’ scene, there are an equal amount of scenes where you’re just watching really bad acting and awkward dialogue. It never forgets to be campy, but it’s still kinda boring nonetheless. The cinematography is also pretty bland, while the score is way too overbearing for the most part. If none of that bothers you because it’s meant to be schlock, you might enjoy it more than me. The shitty artistic choices are definitely intentional, but to me they’re not as fun or clever as something like _Re-animator_.
