Gold

An offbeat comedy about an estranged father who returns to his hometown after an absence of ten years in order to reconnect with his daughter and ex-wife but unwittingly finds himself responsible for almost destroying all their lives.

Extremely rough around the edges. Almost charmingly so, but not quite.
'Gold' hits many a trope/cliché for what it aims to do, which is obvious to see but it's not produced with the softest of touches. I do like the cast, from Maisie Williams to James Nesbitt to Kerry Condon to David Wilmot, but they don't have much to work with unfortunately. At least it doesn't run for too long.
I wouldn't class it as anything bad per se, though I can't see myself remembering this in t-minus 1 day.
It wasn't gold, but it wasn't bad. The cast were okayish, just some didn't fit their roles or didn't put enough energy into them. I think the story was little mixed and rushed. I liked the ending thought.
