I mean yeah the movie is schlocky trash. Plummer and Pleasence try their best. Any magic of Kinski’s performance is gone, buried by self involved narcissism. He wants to be a dashing romantic vampire when the big appeal of his Nosferatu was his decrepit misery. Now he’s too vain to even cut his hair and do the makeup. It’s slow and plodding and pointless. But the real thing is Kinski sexually assaulted his costars during two scenes so. Even if this was a masterpiece it should not exist. It’s a testament to his failure as a human being and how that failure caused his career to fail, but the behavior itself should’ve been enough.
