Don't know why the ratings are so low for this movie. I enjoyed it. Nicolas cage should have been cut from the movie because ugh but the rest was exciting, believable with some good action scenes. Not historically logical or anything, but that is obviously not something they tried (all in English, crusaders probably in the middle eastern suddenly in China, accents that make you vomit (thanks Nic ๐) etc)
I saw this movie when it was like halfway through on TV, but I was interested enough to watch it from the beginning. Hayden Christensen did have something to do with that I guess, damn he is hot, playing an interesting character. The ending was kind of sudden and too open for my taste, and I was mildly confused about
the (it seemed) fatally wounded (presumed dying) couple that arrived their destination looking just fine. And I guess love does not conquer all, but that was kinda refreshing.
Dayum good show!
Hayden Christensen and Nicolas Cage star in the formulaic action thriller Outcast. The story follows a former knight in search of redemption who comes to the rescue of a deposed Chinese prince. Cage gives one of the worst performances of his career, but Christensen does fairly well. And the fight sequences are pretty good, featuring some impressive choreography. However, the plot is incredibly trite and extremely predictable. A poorly made film, Outcast is a by-the-numbers adventure thatโs remarkably bland.
Not a chinese movie. Not authentic, nor historical. Everyone speaking american. Weak story. Bad acting. Nicolas Cage is normally a much better actor, but this might be one of his worst movies. Fortunately he is only in about 15 minutes of the movie. It seems as pointless to have been made, as it was to watch it.
After all the pain and horribleness that was some of Nicolas Cage films, I still like the guy because his true comedy gold but in this it's not so much of gold...more like shit.
If you expect to see a full movie with Nicolas Cage being crazy and hilarious, then you would be very disappointed when you find out that his not in the movie that much. I wish I had more Nicolas cage in this movie because every time he shows up it's funny as hell, but the real focus is on Hayden Christensen, which is the worst part of this movie. My god was he terrible in this movie and his like the male version of Kristen Stewart, lifeless and dull performance he did in this movie.
The writing was awful, the set's looked cheap, the music sucks, the directing was piss poor and seeing Hayden Christensen on screen give me flashbacks of the disappointment that was the Star Wars prequel.
I like Nicolas cage, but God this movie was painful to watch.
His acting was the worse thing I've ever seen and the lead role has just as much personality as an asthmatic oyster.
