I continue to think about this movie, weeks after I watched it. Remarkable the way we learn almost no expository information about the characters, yet each of the prisoners and their personalities are etched into my mind. It's a beautiful, brutal movie where every piece connects and flows seamlessly. Absolute gut punch.

One of the best jail evasion movies I've seen, you see the whole process step by step, almost every hit to make the tunnel.

Good but not the masterpiece i was expecting.

Good characters, performances and cinematography but the pacing is a little slow for a modern viewer.

Super prison escape film. Has some real unhurried energy and plays off the inmates well. Sadly, the director's last film.
