Clearly not the most intelligent of the series, but gotta admit the whole thing taking place in a theme park is really fun, and that's the main interest of the film.

Don't see much of Billy. Can't say the replacement of Taggart brings much. The bad guy is ok. And Serge's comeback is really nice.

There's not much investigation going on, but it's not like there was much of it on the other ones either, it's always been passed over quickly. Even more since the finale is basically "
We killed all the bad guys before there could be any investigation, just deal with it
"

I'm not clear on how Axel guesses
that the fed is involved
?

Yeah, I can see why people dislike this installment out of all three. The humor and charm from the first two films didn't seem to be present in this one. Although, when I think about it, there may have a specific reason for that. I think it could be that the premise this time around was more personal. No, that wouldn't make sense. The premise of the first film was arguably more personal, yet it had the humor and charm that started it all. At the same time, I guess that would explain why the first film still had a humorous tone and charmful atmosphere despite the premise being personal. It was the first film, so those two aspects had to be established, and a focal point. Either way, whatever the reason, I think the downfall of this film was not keeping the iconic humorous tone and the charmful feeling that made the first film, especially, and the second film, what they are. Overall, one aspect that I wasn't a big fan of is how the same premise was used in all three films. Someone Axel knows gets shot, he's on the case, and that's the main focus for the rest of each film. It isn't necessarily a bad premise, there just isn't room to make it as entertaining as the first time around with each time that follows it. In the first film, it felt natural, and rightfully so. The first of something always does, even if it has been done before, more or less, just in something different, entirely. I will say this, though: It was still enjoyable, just not to the extent that the first two films were. I can understand why people disliked it, and I respect that, but I do think that there's a sense of harshness with some people's rating of it, and in some cases, perhaps with what is said regarding it, too. With that being said, you do you.

Axel Foley is back for one last adventure in Beverly Hills Cop III. This time Axel tracks the murderer of his boss to a California amusement park that’s secretly running a counterfeiting ring. The tone’s more lighthearted and fun than in the previous two films, and allows Eddie Murphy to let loose. However, the increased jokiness that Murphy brings lessens the threat of the villains. The amusement park setting also takes some of the grittiness out of the film, though it makes for some clever pop culture satire. While it’s not as hard hitting as the previous installments, Beverly Hills Cop III is a wildly entertaining comedy.

The films are better with the chemistry of the trio of Murphy, Ashton and Reinhold. Reinhold is back with no Ashton and not much to do.
It’s mostly a one joke comedy with Murphy against villains at a wannabe Universal Studios/Disney World. The films were always goofy, yet fun. This one is mostly just goofy.
An almost made for video caliber sequel. Though without it. You can’t say there’s many action movies set at a theme park.

The third was not necessary. When you run out of fresh ideas, do not make the movie.

This was the movie I remembered the most in the series, but unfortunately, it's the worst of them. Still enjoyable to a point, but it feels like a caricature of itself and, if it weren't for Eddie Murphy, this wouldn't be worth the watch. The chemistry was also off without Taggart around.

I hadn't seen her since I saw her at the movies. It is inferior to the others. Eddie Murphy keeps the guy, the rest, not so much. It looks like an amusement park advertisement

Loud, over the top, and straight up silly, which sounds like a Eddie Murphy movie to me.
