Can't remember the last time a movie made me cry this much. Such a powerful movie, with great scenes, romance, laughter, tears through sadness and joy. I can't say I've seen a lot of war movies, but this one really opened my eyes, very well directed with great actors. I can't get over how strong this movie was, oh my god my face is still puffy and I feel so emotionally drained thinking about every person who has ever gone to war, either died fighting for what they thought was right or coming back and having to deal with losing so many friends and most having to live with PTSD. Wow, what a movie.

My father was a Corpsman (medic) like Doss and he has always yearned for a film to portray what they go through. What is most remarkable about this film is that they actually had to tame some of the heroics as they thought the truth would have been too unbelievable. My father said that if you were only ever going to see one war movie, this should be it.

This movie was incredible. I've never seen warfare portrayed in such an up-close and personal way, with so much attention to detail when it comes to brutality. The plot was perfect. The first act lacked any action but was still incredibly engaging thanks to how refreshing the main character was. Seeing him struggle to earn trust from his family and comrades because of his beliefs made for some good drama.

By the second act, we are taken straight into the battlefield and remain there until the very end without cutting in and out of the fight to focus on boring sub-plots. And the main character's unique emotional standpoint allowed for many impressive scenes of bravery and teamwork. Best war movie i've seen so far.

This movie is simply amazing. Portraying the horror of war while honoring the sacrifice and courage of those who endured hell on earth so that others did not need to. Be prepared for an amazing emotional roller coaster.

this movie is simply a masterpiece, in addition to already having a beautiful story for being based on real events, it is a beautiful adaptation of a real event, not making you feel bored or boring, the film is a great tribute to everything that happened there and to everyone who died in the war, and everything is even better with Andrew Garfield who always gives a show of acting, this film is beautiful, it is incredible, it is sad, it is wonderful, and the war scenes, it is simply one of the best I have seen in any other film, it makes you feel the pain of war, as it is bad, how it hurts, how it hurts for those who are fighting in the war, and even for people's families, this movie is just incredible. Rest in Piece, Desmond T. Doss
