Worth the watch for the weirdness, very slow otherwise. would be good for riffing

One of the strangest attempts at remaking The Exorcist without actually saying you're doing it, but with only a 2 sentence synopsis of what The Exorcist was about as your starting point. Just a seriously weird film from start to finish, and not an entertaining one either.

If you're going to rip-off The Exorcist, at least make it half decent!

Managed to watch it all the way through (don't know how) but around the hour mark it became a struggle.

Catching this before it leaves Shudder. This being a cheap The Exorcist rip-off doesn't bother me in the least, what does is that it just plain sucks. It's unusually slow to the point of boredom. It never goes far enough to truly be a WILD film at any point and definitely not one of those so-bad-it's-good films. The effects and that foul mouthed daughter may be the only redeeming quality of this film.

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Beyond the Door’:

1. This might have been the worst film I have ever seen. Why it’s on “Fangoria's 101 Best Horror Movies You've Never Seen” list is BEYOND me.

2. The score was pure torture. Anger-inducing.

3. There may have been some fairly creepy visuals to respect here IF THEY WEREN’T BLATANT RIPOFFS OF _THE EXORCIST_. And they even tried adding a little _Rosemary’s Baby_ into the mix. A major horror fail if I’ve ever seen one.

Bonus Thought: That scene where the husband was walking down the street while being surrounded by musicians who played flutes through their nose. WHY?
