This movie was just a delight. A fun Woody Allen getaway to old school Hollywood and New York. And also...some of the most gorgeous cinematography I've seen. Every shot I'm like, daaaamn, I want that on my wall.

A very underrated entry in the catalog of Woody Allen films. I thought the story was excellent and the acting was on point. Stewart and Eisenberg shine.

Another enjoyable Woody Allen movie that I'll probably end up rewatching on a Sunday afternoon sometime in the future

I have watched it not so long ago, but I couldn't tell you the story line even if I wanted to intentionally spoil it for you. But what I remember is the feeling that it's a classic Woody Allen, nice to watch, not pretentious, nor made with the desire to become something else beyond being an enjoyable entertainment where you'll find the characteristic Jewish - Allen humor. Not being a mess, puts this movie directly on the top percentile of commercial flicks released by Hollywood during 2016, and I mean movies for humans who still wear a head on top of their shoulders.

I liked how this movie gave “rainy day in New York” vibes. I didn’t really like the story but it was very scandalous for sure. It makes me think if the years this movie is set in were so honest as portrayed in the movie or if it’s just the cinema talking? Was everyone so blunt back then, did people really care so much back then? Was crime so averted back then? Were people always so good at compromising?

It's an okay film. I didn't find myself super drawn in or eager to keep watching but I can't quite put my finger on why. I'm not sure I'm a big fan of Kristen Stewart in this role. She wasn't believable. Jesse Eisenberg is good but I always felt aware of him doing an Woody Allen impression.. Something just feels a bit off. It was fine to watch once - lovely sets and costumes - buy I wouldn't recommend it.

Seems to lose its way in the second half with some meandering plot points, but otherwise this is a sweet, old fashioned comedy.
