Really great story about grief and excellent performance from Kristen Stewart

Stewart rules! I didn't know about this film, but OMG is great.

The isolation caused by her line of work intensified the overall suspense and mystery. Worth checking out.

I had never heard of this movie it just popped up on my "Movies you might like" list on Hulu and I was pleasantly surprised with it. It took me a minute to really figure out what on earth was going on, but it came together in a way that makes sense and ended up being a pretty good movie. [spoiler] So if you're like me and you didn't get to watch it as close as you wanted for whatever reason, the guy texting her was Kyra's boyfriend. He wanted her to think it was her brother, but he was trying to frame her for Kyra's murder. He also intended to kill her too but she was one step ahead of him and got him arrested. The brother just isn't there, he's not alive, he's not a ghost, that was all in her head which is confirmed by the final scene.[/spoiler]

Kristen Stewart is fantastic. Her last scene really is amazing. Very creepy and slow movie. It asks a lot of questions and not a lot of answers. Its not for everyone but I enjoyed it.

i quite liked this film, it was exciting literally until the last second which is something I feel like doesn’t happen very often

kristen did great, but I must admit I almost laughed when she was yelling in the dark at some ghost I’M SORRY KRISTEN I JUST COULDN’T HELP MYSELF

something else I found almost amusing was the space before the question mark, like, what’s that about?? I quickly gathered that that was a thing in this film though

and I was so surprised when I found out who killed kyra, although when I look back I realize I wasn’t thinking much and it was kind of obvious

the thing that scared me the most in this entire film was the creepy face in the background of that scene towards the end of kristen drinking coffee/tea IT SCARED ME SO MUCH like I was NOT ready for that

i was practically screaming at my screen when she didn’t figure out that that glass breaking WAS THE DAMN SIGN like come oooon

PS: kristen, I want to see more scenes of you with dogs, can you do that for me?? okay thanks

Added points for the attempt to make something unique even if at times it felt all over the place. It didn't always work but on the whole it was an interesting film.

This film is confusing, not for the plot but the aim is not clear until the end: Maureen's job is not well joined to the superntural part, it has not a concrete genre, the pace is too slow... Nevertheless, Kristen Stewart is fantastic, Maureen's character fits like a glove for her. Amazing sequences, artistic shots, and plenty of metaphoric and visual elements. You have to interpret the story, and I think this is the best point.

So this is a tough one. I sort of enjoyed this but it's another case where I didn't like any of the characters. Even Maureen (Kristan Stewart) was nothing but depressing to watch and she was the entire focus of the film. Following a personal shopper around as she goes through her daily grind was about as entertaining to watch as paint drying and she did a lot of shopping. I hate shopping. She lost her brother and that's an understandable reason to be depressed. She also had the same medical condition that her brother died from and that's certainly another. But when she tries on Kyra's clothes...was it because she envied Kyra's lifestyle? Was she angry because she basically equips Kyra with all of the clothing choices that are the source of Kyra's celebrity status? Was she not being paid enough? I don't get Maureen's issues with Kyra.

This is well directed and features some interesting transitions, some of which only jump seconds or minutes forward in time. I really liked the use of sound, primarily during the "hauntings". They were very effective. I've seen a lot written about the texting scene on the train being suspenseful. It's no different than if she were handed a note or received a phone call with someone stating that they are watching. There's nothing scary about texting itself. Plus, the scene goes on way too long.

My favorite scene features Maureen having tea on the patio in the backyard with Erwin. I'll preface this by stating that this isn't a scary movie. It's unsettling at times because there's always a threat of an encounter with a spirit. Maureen is aware of that presence in every case that I can think of except the scene with Erwin. There's something that happens during the conversation that is extremely successful as a scare. It's not a jump scare and it's not anything that hasn't been done before in lesser movies, it's just done incredibly well.

The ending was a letdown and not because it didn't put a nice, tidy bow that wrapped the story up. But it was far too open ended with too many interpretations possible.
