I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

Typical sequel, more blood, more violence, more voodoo. ;)

While it’s not a fantastic movie, it is a decent slasher film. The very end is pretty lame though. All the dream sequences are bad actually.

If someone didn't know what a cheesy jump scare is, this movie would be a great example. I don't think it went more than 15 minutes without having one.

Horrendous plot - the horrifically [spoiler]cheesy reveal of "Will Ben_SON_"[/spoiler].... yech. Cliché ending to set up the next installment, this movie had extra cheese.

Once again, though - bonus points for J.Love.

A pretty decent sequel is ruined by a goofy ending. That was pretty much the same as the first film but worse.
It felt juvenile and perverted that Roger Ebert said “is it me or does Jennifer Love Hewitt’s boobs get bigger and bigger ?”
Watching the first film now I actually see what he means lol. Like it was a stuffed bra in some scenes and not stuffed in others. It is distracting.
Though it is funny that a late top critic is who pointed it out lol. He’d be in deep shit if it was these sensitive times.
Anyway if it they did stuff her bra, they should have been more concerned about other things. Like if the story was good and if the horrible ending worked.

'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer' is a pointless sequel. It doesn't do anything interesting, the change of location is also meaningless given how the plot plays out; in terms of weather and a convenient late arrival. None of the characters stick out either.

Jennifer Love Hewitt continues to lead finely, though isn't as entertaining as last time out. Freddie Prinze Jr. barely features, while newcomers Brandy (albeit the best of the rest) and Mekhi Phifer are forgettable. I didn't expect to see that cameo from a certain someone, mind.

Ultimately, it's just boring. I can't imagine 'I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer' improved things given the release year jump and presumed cast changes, but I shall soon see.

The sequel to "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is not that much worse than the equally mediocre first movie. The film is competently shot throughout. However, there is too little suspense, and the kills could have been a bit more violent. The cast is less impressive than in the predecessor, partly because the newcomers can't compete with names like Ryan Phillippe or Sarah Michelle Gellar. But no one is really all that good here anyway. As for Freddie Prinze Jr., I don't know if he ever managed to convince me in a live-action role. And Jennifer Love Hewitt, at least at this point in her career, certainly had other qualities than being overly talented as an actor. To make matters worse, the characters are all written so badly. The same statement applies to the story as a whole. Especially in the second half of the film, this is really annoying. The ending then tops it all off.

Solid is still the killer, who combines many elements that a slasher villain must have. Especially, his look is unique, and he has a cool weapon. Really stupid, however, is the title. At the beginning of the first part, the protagonists did something that the killer remembers the following summer. The new movie takes place another year later. So none of the potential victims did anything last summer, but the summer before last. Nevertheless, "I still know what you did the summer before last" would certainly not be a good title either. The fact that I'm dwelling on such trivialities should make it clear, however, that I didn't enjoy the film all that much overall.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is yet another case of an appalling sequel made by filmmakers that didn’t understanding the material. Julie, still haunted by Ben Willis, heads off to a remove island with a new set of friends which are then hunted down and killed off. The writing is just terrible, starting with retconing the ending of the first film (which is never a good sign), and continues on to a ridiculously stupid situation full of unlikable characters that the audience doesn’t care about. Lacking the charm and cleverness of the original, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is a pathetic film that’s reprehensible in every way.

In any movie where characters go on a sunny holiday, you know that the crew is actually on holiday, where sometimes they work.

So yeah. I didn't care for this one, unfortunately. These movies had the potential to be the next horror franchise smash hit, but they just didn't.

Jack Black playing a stoner with dreadlocks might be the worst character in a horror movie. He was so unbearable in this one. I was so happy when he was brutally murdered.

Although I must say, the song "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor, sung by one of the characters in the movie on a karaoke, would make a great edition as an anthem for slasher movies.
