I will admit that I wasn't really into this movie at the beginning. Lots of drama, lots of back and forth...etc but it got better over time. The humor is very Mexican, which is expected since it's a Mexican film, but if you don't understand the slang you probably won't get the humor but by the end the movie really grows on you. The ending is a bit odd, but it's also very sweet and emotional at times. So, it started off mediocre but by the end I found that I rather enjoyed it.
The film presents an interesting premise but fails to develop it effectively. The characters, especially Román, are too one-dimensional, and his evolution feels forced. Despite attempting to combine comedy and drama, the script fails to balance both genres, leaving the story in a confusing tone.
Santiago Limón's direction also fails to maintain the pacing, with scenes that feel slow and others overly exaggerated. While the cast has good screen presence, the performances don’t fully capture the essence of the characters.
In my opinion, the film doesn't delve into its themes or create a real emotional connection with the audience. Although it tries to be entertaining, it falls short in several areas.
