Really great performance by Laura Dern and a really compelling story about the complexities of memory and trauma.

This film is fantastic on so many different levels.  The acting and story are absolutely superb.  But what really struck me about this film is how difficult it must have been to tell this story without it coming across as an after-school special or Lifetime movie.   I've seen countless other films with a serious subject matter done half as well as this movie.  It is mind-boggling that the director is also the one that experienced these events and somehow was still able to tell the events in a way that was both creative and fresh.  Amazing.

A great movie about an uncomfortable topic. I am shocked and amazed how directer Jennifer Fox goes so in depth into her past. At times it can be very hard to watch. The way she deals with conflicting memories is really well done. Laura Dern and Isabelle Nélisse are both fantastic. This is a tough watch but definitely one that should be seen.

Honestly, it was very hard to watch this story, I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must've been to tell it.

Pretty solid story although the overall quality of the movie is not what I expected it to be, considering the involvement of HBO in this. While I was watching it I asked myself if this wasn't a Lifetime production...
I think this could have been better, anyway the story that was told here is too important to be ignored and I'm grateful to this movie for that.
