It is a very good movie! A typical early summer dinner in Rome between friends. Sometime the truth game can be very dangerous... Imagine if the mobile phones are the protagonist of the game...
All the actors are fantastic!

This movie teaches us an important lesson about being honest. It might seem easy to get away with our little secrets, however innocent they might feel like. But technology is a double-edged weapon! Just make sure you have nothing to hide, be true to yourself and others. I loved how the movie ended, never anticipated something like that.

The dynamics of this movie are absurdly intense, captivating and tense. The story stands out for being simple, unique and extremely efficient, with a total focus on the characters, who are very well developed and incredibly expressive. Everything works flawlessly, the dialogues are striking and carefully constructed, while the narrative structure is solid. The numerous twists and turns and discoveries throughout the film are impactful, well-placed and deeply involving, keeping the atmosphere intriguing from start to finish.

I'll admit it - the plot synopsis seemed a little gimmicky before I watched the movie. A group of old friends attending a dinner party agree to put their cell phones in the middle of the table and read every message or call out loud for the duration of the evening. As you may expect there were secrets (it would be a pretty dull movie if there weren't any). But what transpires after that is really surprising as the movie takes on layers that I did not see coming (both in terms of the secrets and the symbolism). While there is a bit of final commentary in the final scene the storytelling in the scene before it is really excellent.

not a fan of love-related movies but it is much more realistic for a love-themed movie. that's the life itself. nothing less nothing more. "people should learn to split up" that summarizes the whole movie

"Perfect Strangers" is a homage to old Italian-style comedy but also a fresh and contemporary film at the same time. A group of friends meets for one of their usual dinner parties, and decide to play a game where they share the content of all text messages and phone calls they receive.
The game at first is used as a smart plot device to tell us more about the life situations and character of each friend, but as the dinner goes on, everyone's darkest secrets get exposed in a series of plot twists.

This film has been largely described as a critique of the role of smartphones and technology play in our lives. Honestly, I thought the technology just happened to be a vehicle like another to reflect on the subtle and delicate balances of human relationships, on how friendships and love stories can be both kept together and torn apart by unspoken truths, silences, and hypocrisy.

Most of the film takes place in a living room with the camera moving around the seven main characters, their phones, and the food they are sharing. It's hard to make such a one-set, dialogue-driven film entertaining. However, the quick direction, the incredible chemistry of the cast and their natural, fast-paced dialogues manage to make you feel at home. It was almost like sitting there and sharing dinner with the characters.

The acting is mostly solid but might feel a bit too much for international audiences as the tone of the conversations if typically Italian. The dialogues are witty and well written, even though there are times the film gets suddenly overly didactic with unnatural monologues or obvious moral statements from one of the characters. The melodramatic, intrusive soundtrack full of tear-jerking strings also tends to jump in a lot during these moments. It's a minor portion of the film but kind of spoil the fun of what would otherwise be one of the finest examples of modern Italian filmmaking.
