Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn

This was a damn fun one. For a film that seemingly has the whole universe in chaos, the focus and direction are quite crisp. I really like how the Z fighters are fighting simultaneously in different realms without even knowing it. Janemba starting out as childish threat is a great fake-out and also a lot of fun. His dimensional powers make for some awesome and challenging fights for Goku. Vegeta’s arrival is abrupt but welcomed as he never fails to give me chills. “I can’t run Kakarot. If I did, then life too would be a hell. If I run, life will be a hell. If I die, it will be a hell. So I only have one choice. I’ll do it (fusion)” Goku and Vegeta’s conversation inside the spikes is some of their most heartfelt writing to date. Janemba finally finds them but my boy Pikkon intervenes (who somehow discovered Janemba’s weakness is bullying? 😂) And finally we get to see some damn fusion but my fuck is it glorious. This shit goes so hard I ran it back 5 times!

“I am not Goku or Vegeta! I am Gogeta! It's over, Janemba! I've come for you! Every force you create has an echo! Your own bad energy will be your undoing!” 🤘 🤘

The score, animation, and voice acting are perfect. Also I love Goten and Trunks cosmically just being like “Hey our dads fused. Shall we?”
