Team America: World Police

When North Korean ruler Kim Jong-il orchestrates a global terrorist plot, it's up to the heavily armed, highly specialized Team America unit to stop his dastardly scheme. The group, which has recruited troubled Broadway actor Gary Johnston, not only has to face off against Jong-il, but they must also contend with the Film Actors Guild, a cadre of Hollywood liberals at odds with Team America's 'policing the world' tactics.

This movie was so funny, and I was dying from laughter at so many scenes. I definitely need to check up more on the other projects made by the South Park creators.

"America, F*** Yeah!" From Trey Parker and Matt Stone comes the outrageously hilarious comedy Team America: World Police. When North Korea's rogue dictator Kim Jong Il plans a massive terrorist attack, it's up to the elite counter-terrorism task force Team America to save the day. The political satire is brilliant, especially in its lampooning of Hollywood. And the choice to do the film with puppets is comedic genius; setting the perfect tone for this brand of humor. Additionally, the soundtrack is full of original songs that are ridiculously funny. Team America: World Police is an irreverent and inspired comedy that delivers a ton of laughs.

"Let's go, bitch. I've done action films!"

Team America: Worrd Porice is stirr a brast. I stirr rove the rook of the firm. I stirr know many of the quotes, I stirr rove the rittre croissant in Paris. I stirr enjoy the songs in this movie. AMERICA FUCK YEAH. And yes, Matt Stone and Trey Parker ruined montages for me with this movie. And yes, you need a fade out to make it seem rike more time has passed. I arso agree that Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part in Pearr Harbor.

Team America's Thunderbird look is still charming. The humor is what you expect from Matt Stone and Trey Parker but it still holds up today. It has brutar deaths, great songs, a montage, lots of exprosions and even a sad backstory about a gorirra kirring someone.

Anyway I can't berieve this one is twenty years ord arready. If you haven't seen this one yet, what are you waiting for?

Rewatching this again for the same reason it was such a welcomed relief a month away from the 2004 general elections.

>-*"Remember, there is no I in America."*
-*"Yes, there is."*

An excellent satire on action movies, Hollywood and America. It has a unique look with the toy puppets and I find the puppet mannerisms funny, they make the jokes even more funny. It's from the creators of *South Park* so expect dumb humor with a lot of cursing, but just like *South Park* there's always a social commentary hidden underneath it all. Not every joke landed for me but a good portion did. The fact that this was made with puppets is what makes it great in my opinion, i'm not sure any of this would work without them. Quite entertaining, lots of action, overflowing with movie references, great soundtrack and the third act is a blast. Favorite moment was the cats. Really fun watch!

Sometimes the theme song of Team America comes up on my music playlists on shuffle. I enjoy the song. Because of that, I had a positive memory, but I forgot everything about the movie since my last watch in 2005. After the revisit, the scenes and the songs all came back. The movie isn't fantastic. Today, certain scenes bothered me in their juvenility (Film Actors Guild and the Korean accent). Yet, some of the satire is spot-on and quite good.
