Seeding of a Ghost

A Hong Kong taxi driver suffers after being cursed by a sorcerer he accidentally hit with his cab. After the driver's wife is raped and killed by teenage hooligans, he pleads with the sorcerer to lift the hex and restore his wife to the land of the living. Otherworldly zombie chaos ensues.
**This is part of my 2022 HORROR Fridays**
What I expected of Seeding of a Ghost was a mess of body horror, bodily fluids, and general gross out horror.
What I got, was, of course, some of the above, but also a rather effective horror movie. There are of course things that are rather cheesy, but for some reason it works for me. Even the slow beginning works to heighten the tension, because you know some weird shit is coming. There are actually some scenes in Seeding of a Ghost that made me slightly queasy. Very few horror movies does that to me...
I've not seen much of the Shaw Brothers horror movies, and know very little about them. Seeding of a Ghost had a certain infamy, so when I had the chance to borrow the 88 Films release, I couldn't pass it up. The transfer looked very good, so this is the release to get at the moment.
Finally...Does Seeding of a Ghost deserve its infamy? To some degree...sure, BUT...it looks its age. Take that statement how you want...
