Ocean's 8 has a great (and diverse!) cast with amazing chemistry, interesting characters, and a fun plot. I enjoyed every minute of this film and actually saw it in theatre twice.

Also, 12/10 for Cate Blanchett's outfits - I walked into the theatre gay and I came out ~~(pun intended, I guess)~~ gay and empowered.

Nice symmetry to create a real Ocean's experience from the female perspective kudos

For me the "original" Ocean's movies never clicked despite their great cast, but when I saw this female version with Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter I was sold. I've seen them in other movies and had always been a fan of their acting so it was a must to watch Ocean's 8. And what shall I say? I LOVED IT! The characters, the cons, the dialogues, everything. This ladies sure deliver! I watched the movie three times so far and will rewatch again for sure.

The cast alone was a reason to watch. It starred some of my favorite actresses. On top of that, the plot was good, good heist. Really enjoyed this movie, probably a lot more than I thought because I wasn't an real Ocean's fan.

I rally enjoyed it.
Sandra and Rihanna are my two favorite characters.
All of the ladies did an amazing job.
I hope there is a second part of this movie.

All star, kick ass cast! The heist is interesting, but certainly not the "trickster & thought provoking" job from the original Ocean's Eleven. There are some blaring plot holes, but all is forgiven because the characters are far more fleshed out. & to be quite honest... women often make more complex and dynamic characters than their male counterparts. And this film was no exception!

Each character had her own backstory & unique traits beyond her trade skill sets to bring to the team, unlike the men's team that felt more one-dimensional. "Men get noticed; women don't." brought a distinct feel to this movie that the other Oceans lacked. It was more sly and manipulative, and that's sexy!

And let's be real... the Met Gala was simply a glamour shot for cameos from *all the big name celebs* & we all ate it up at when "These boots were made for walking" came on & all the ladies exited dressed to the nines!

A solid film. Sandra Bullock did.everything I needed her to. Anne Hathaway was an utterly charming delight.

Alright so now that I've seen Ocean's 8 and given it some time I have thoughts. Most of them good. I liked the scaled back heist. One of the things I was worried about was trying to go bigger than hitting all five casinos on Las Vegas' strip. It was.... okay, for Ocean's 11+ but that kind of oneups man ship has issues. Instead we got a tight focused heist. With a tight focused crew. If any thing the only issue was that it was too focused.

The literal worst part of this movie is that everyone was so good at their jobs that not enough went wrong. What I want in a heist film is Gambit. I want to understand the plan and then see it mess up multiple times. Irreparable times. And then see my thieves somehow pull it off with planning I wasn't even expecting. The closest thing to that in Ocean's 8 is when (small spoiler)
one of their marks turns out to be far more aware of what's going on then the crew anticipated forcing them to have to account for that
my issue isn't how they treated the mark but that functionally (bigger spoiler)
they add her to the crew with no muss, no fuss, and we don't even get to see it happen
. There's just a lot of implying of the fun stuff. Not all of it because there's a lot of clockwork precision going on that actually made me think if these ladies had attempted Ocean's 11 they would have gotten off with none of the hitches that Danny had to go though.

The cameos were excellent. Though no cameo in any heist film will ever top the cameo in Oceans 12. It was brilliant and unexpected and worked perfectly. Even though I don't know who this Awkwafina chick is and I feel like her name is mocking me (and I recognize that's just a me thing), I loved everyone in the cast except Cate Blanchett's Lou. Every scene she was in I felt confused. But as a character she was fine. The worst characterization was Rihanna in a dress. For "reasons" the entire gang end up in dresses befitting their personalities. Rihanna just wore one of her own dresses. Because everything about that dress was Rihanna and not her character (9Ball).

The reveal scene was good. It made you feel smart for noticing things without looking like it was trying to make you look smart. The banter with the cop is a great trope in heists films but this movie has a bad one. James Corden was weak as the insurance investigator trying to find the jewels. Specifically because (medium spoiler)
he knows who took them and they don't deny it
. In a situation like that why are they bantering. What does he hope to achieve with said banter?
Its one thing for him to suspect, but for him to know to literally know who took the jewels?
it took all the tension out which is a shame because that tension was sorely missed in scenes with the mark I mentioned in an earlier spoiler.
